  Thanks Viv:-

  A) I didn't mean to imply that NASSA developed nuclear weapons.

  B) I agree spending money to explore and learn things about the world around us isn't wasting money. ( sorry if you felt that was the point I made)

  C) I understand there is such a thing as a dumb question, I accept my mind on occasion works feebly, even badly. But even the uneducated are allowed to raise dumb questions on this forum. ( Unfortunately education was something many of us were denied as witnesses)

  The Rebel :-agreed. I clearly stated in my O.P I was 50/50. Basically because I hadn't done any real research on the subject. That's why I bought the debate up to learn. Personally I think not questioning things and blindly accepting as fact what we are told is naive. Finally things are rarely black or white, and on few things can we be 100%. I imagine a wise a man who thinks critically and questions all things is probably only 80% right.

  Anyway regardless of if man landed on the moon or not, as I said on another post personally I would rather the money had been spent feeding and clothing the poor of the world, which would have been paid for many times over if we didn't waste so much money on exploring outer space, nuclear weapons and defence.

  Anyone agree/ disagree?

  off topic being a new member on this site and browsing around I discovered a great thread by " Compound and Complex" it's the called " The Natural Beauty of My Neighbourhood" .It doesn't have as much melodrama as this thread, but I would reccomend it.

  To those of us now FREE....

  on another thread i commented " the most wonderful thing for me about having left the organisation is giving an education to my child, encouraging him to be dedicated and committed to the person he himself wants to be".

  for me that is the best thing about being free from the organisations control.. what has been your best realisation having left the organisation?.

  It's been fun discovering their is so much unconditional love in " the world"

  And in " the world" it's nice to be able to question and be answered.

  Now I have got to rush as I am pickniking with my boy and other half in the park....( if I were on a bible study my priorities may have been different)

  That's a great story freemindfade fade. Reminded me of the film SMOKE by Paul Auster. which finished with the the writer writiting his friends made up " Christmas story"

  The writer played by ( I forget) said " Bullshit" but you tell a great story."I can't remember the lines off the top of my head,but that was an under appreciated film with Harvey Kietel, whose character told a beautiful story of " Bullshit"

  The key word Auster used in the film script of SMOKE was also the key word in your post " Bullshit" and if you watch the film you will appreciate " Bullshit" is to be respected and it is also often quite valid.

  Your post made a " Paul Auster" point, debating can be both educational and fun.

  Going back and reading my O.P I realise I may have missed the answer to a question i asked:-

  When the astrotaughts left the moon, the flag they planted was standing.

  ( Q) Do we have any evidence from any verifiable sources the flag is still standing?

  Anyway maybe in 50 years moon travel will be the norm. That will put the debate to bed.

  " Hello" WE were ONCE knocking on our neighbours door asking the "STUPID "question,

  " Do you think maybe someday all nations will unite as one race, and the money is available to feed the poor."

  The point I am trying to make is this- we all once knocked on strangers doors, thinking our stupid contrived questions clever. We even thought people stupid for believing in dinosaurs.

  What does this have to do with OUR thread?

  I think a great deal, as to how we should respect diffent viewpoints.

  Yes tiki @ neverajw I agree.

  I received a birthday card from my boy "To my dad. To the person that always stands up for me........." That in its self was worth all the crap involved with leaving the organisation.
